Soccer superstar David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham met after David told his manager that he had a crush on “Posh Spice” and simply had to meet her. Half her luck! The pair began dating in 1997, with the courting remaining fairly low key – it usually involved going to dinner, going to the movies, going for a drive, or talking on the phone. Becks and Posh were soon besotted with each other and David proposed on 25 January, 1998, with their engagement party being held at Rookery Hall in Nantwich.
Shortly after their engagement, Becks and Posh were in for a surprise, after finding out that they were pregnant. Victoria gave birth to their first child, Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, on 4 March, 1999, in London. The couple sealed the deal with their wedding ceremony on 4 July, 1999. They were married at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, in an intimate setting that included only twenty-nine guests. Victoria wore a tight fitting gown by Vera Wang, with David in an ivory suit. The wedding reception was considerably larger than the ceremony, with approximately 230 guests attending.
David and Victoria Beckham are constantly making headlines in media outlets. Whether it’s involving David’s soccer career choices, to Victoria’s clothing lines, or their big move to LA, or the numerous rumours of David’s infidelity, the pair are always in the limelight. The most publicised affair was the ‘Rebecca Loos Ordeal’. Loos was David’s former PA, taking on the role after David made the move to Madrid to play soccer for Real Madrid. However, despite the rumours, Victoria and David have stayed together and have had another two boys – Romeo and Cruz.
