There is a lot of new talent in Hollywood vying for coveted superstar status but not many will it to the very top of Hollywood stardom. These are our picks for the brightest sparks of 2011. They, we think, have the best shot at super stardom based on their history, their talent and their charisma.

Camille Cresencia-Mills

One young up and comer, especially amongst the teen, young adult audience, is Camille Cresencia-Mills. A native of Toronto, the young actress was born in July, 1993. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts where she majored in Drama. In her early acting days she appeared in the television series Warehouse 13, as well as an online show called Motherload.

In 2010, she had her biggest break when she became a member of the regular cast in the American version of the TV teen drama Skins. In Skins Camille plays the role of Daisy who is the voice of reason in a group of out of control teenagers. Considering she doesn’t have any Hollywood films to her name and yet has multiple fan clubs to her name already bodes well for the future success of this soon to be super star.

Mara Rooney

Another beautiful film actress who will be getting a lot of attention as the awards season heats up is Mara Rooney. Mara co-starred in the movie, The Social Network which is being picked for some plum prizes this year. The stunning star has charisma and played her role impeccably showing she has the range and talent needed for Hollywood super stardom. Mara had her acting début in 2005 and in six short years she has starred in A Nightmare on Elm Street, the remake of the 1984 horror film, The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Mara certainly has the super star quality which has brought her leading roles in very high profile, big films very quickly.
Mara was born and raised in Bedford, New York, the daughter of Timothy Christopher Mara, the vice president of player evaluation for the New York Giants, and Kathleen McNulty (née Rooney). She graduated from Fox Lane High School in 2003, and then attended the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University where she majored in psychology and graduated in 2010. She was inspired to act from musicals and family influences.

Chris Hemsworth

Amongst the guys to watch is Chris Hemsworth. The Australian actor has made the leap from local television drama to the big screen and has caused a significant buzz while doing it. He has been picked to portray Marvel Comics character Thor in the upcoming films Thor and The Avengers. While the actor has undertaken a number of supporting movie roles in the past it was in 2010 that he took on his first leading role and Thor will be his first leading role in a major Hollywood production. Although he is not that young for a newbie on the Hollywood scene he has a wealth of talent and let’s face it – he’s a guy and so the age issue isn’t going to affect him badly. Chances are at the ripe old age of 27; Chris is poised for super stardom.

Ben Barnes

Already well on his way to super stardom is Ben Barnes and that’s a good thing because Ben Barnes is pushing 30 but again, this isn’t going to be an issue. Like Johnny Depp this guy has the looks and the acting versatility to be able to maintain momentum well into his 40s. The English actor has a few credits to his name, both singing and acting, and truly broke into the Hollywood scene in his starring role as Prince Caspian in the Narnia series although he also has a few other big Hollywood credits to his name.

Ben Barnes was born in London, England to Tricia Barnes, a relationship therapist, and Thomas Barnes, a professor of psychiatry. He has a younger brother, Jack and he is an alumnus of both Homefield Preparatory School and King's College School. He also studied Drama and English literature at Kingston University.

Jaden Smith

And finally on our list of up and comers we must add a very young actor with incredible talent and the kind of precocious personality that Hollywood cannot resist – just ask his father! Jaden Smith is the young star of the recent Karate Kid remake. He will turn 13 years old this year and already he has taken Hollywood by storm. Jaden Christopher Syre Smith (born July 8, 1998) is an actor, rapper, songwriter, dancer, and the son of the famous superstar, Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Jaden’s big film break came in 2006 when he was picked to act in the film The Pursuit of Happyness with his dad. Since then he has starred in The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Karate Kid. With time on his hands, a wealth of talent and the right connections, Jaden is definitely a superstar in the making.
